How cool is The First Lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama joined James Corden and a surprise visit from Missy Elliot on the must-see The Late Late Show latest episode of carpool karaoke. Read more below.
The First Lady of the United States of America and Corden started off by dancing and singing to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” next up was another favorite: Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies.” “We were making honey in the [Bey]hive,” said Mrs. Obama, “To put in our Lemonade!”
Corden drove round the White house as they talked about what it’s really like living in the White House, talked about code names and what Mrs Obama will miss and even take away from the white house. “I rarely get to listen to music in the car,” the First Lady admitted. “I’ve been in a car, maybe it was months ago, with my daughter who learned how to drive. That was the only time in seven and a half years that I’ve been in the passenger seat listening to music and rocking out like this.”
The most memorable moment of the night was when Missy Elliott, American hip hop recording artist and record producer joined the pair to sing along to her very own song ‘Get your freak on’ and “This Is for My Girls” a inspirational song featuring Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Rowland, Missy Elliott and more, serving as an anthem for the Let Girls Learn initiative to help the 62 million girls around the world who are not in school to get an education. All U.S. proceeds of the song will go to the charity program. This isn’t the first time FLOTUS has used her A-list pals to promote a positive message. In 2011, she got Beyonce to record a remix of her song “Get Me Bodied” called “Move Your Body” to promote kids getting active.
