Drake has revealed that his new album ‘Views From The 6’ will be available this month, April 29th. The rapper confirmed the big news on his Beats 1 OVO Sound radio show over the weekend, and later shared a trailer for the album on social media.
The album is said to be exclusive to Apple Music. The trailer is soundtracked by “Over” by Suicideyear, a producer associated with Yung Lean’s #sadboys crew and Oneohtrix Point Never’s record label Software. As well as announcing his album’s release date, Drake also shared a new version of his newest single “Pop Style”. While the original single featured guest verses from The Throne that is; Jay Z and Kanye West, the version premiered on Beats 1, features a new Drake verse. It’s not clear which version (if any) will actually make it onto his album.
-Why Drake’s ‘Views From The 6’ Is Coming Out On Apple Music, reported by Pitchfork and confirmed independently to FORBES by Apple, the deal is said to be the latest sign that exclusivity is streaming’s new battleground. As the market becomes saturated with choices for consumers, providers like Tidal and Apple Music are attempting to differentiate themselves–and win paying subscribers–with proprietary content. Forbes
