The 93rd Academy Awards took place last night at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. For Hollywood’s biggest night; stars and presenters made an appearance for this special occasion and went the extra mile. A-listers included, Vanessa Kirby, Carey Mulligan, Viola Davis, Andra Day plus more. The Oscars certainly featured a glamorous event despite COVID-19 restrictions and previous virtual ceremonies. Hollywood’s leading stars brought their A-game to the Oscars red carpet for the 2021 ceremony. We have the likes of Coleman Domingo rocking a hot pink Atelier Versace that brightened the carpet even more. While Director Regina King shone in a custom Louis Vuitton dress designed by Nicolas Ghesquière covered with the most Swarovski crystals the brand has ever used in a single garment. Regina King in Louis Vuitton. Crafted over the course of 140 hours in the Vuitton atelier, the piece features a record-breaking number of Swarovski crystals for the house. With 62,000 sequins, 3,900 pale sparkling stones, 4,500 in darker tones, and 80 meters of chain stitching. “We wanted to keep that element of fantasy,” says Bannerman. “For Regina, this is a new move in terms of the look’s architecture and silhouette.”
Who remembers when Halle Berry set the bar high at the 2002 Academy Awards for both Best Actress; (She remains the only Black actress to have won the award) and an iconic pixie cut.
