From glitter to gloss to rocking headbands on the catwalks, we can say without a doubt that spring/summer 2019 beauty trends are here to stay. If there was ever a season to experiment with bushy brows, bold hair colour and lots of glitter it’s definitely spring/summer 2019.
With plenty looks to take your beauty cues and inspiration from, here are our favourite beauty trends of spring/summer 2019-
Headbands
Who doesn’t love a little bit of hair accessories here and there; from bows to barrettes and clips to clasps. SS19 shows featured elasticated simple styles at Dior to studded satin at Prada, embellished bands at Simone Rocha and super cute bow bands at Miu Miu.
Red Lips
Lets talk about red lips, with an array of red colours to choose from it is so exciting to see how we can only but love red lipstick even more. Givenchy and Poiret featured pillarbox reds, coral tones by Lucia Pica at Chanel and rich tomato hues at Koché, by Terry Barber. Even Chloé that usually showcases minimal make-up, also gave us some beautiful red lips, whilst burgundy tones were showcased at Moschino.
Big Brows
Although Rihanna’s razor-thin brows on the September 2018 Vogue cover gave us a little insight into what could have been a beauty trend, but can we just say that, that was for the moment. Now we are looking at bold, bushy brows as featured at the likes of Moschino, Jeremy Scott, Dion Lee, Fendi shows. Heavy lashes are still going strong too as featured at Chanel, Prada and Tom Ford.
Graphic Cat-Eye
Talk about cat eye on flick, so we can definitely say applying eyeliner perfectly is something every beauty blogger must be good at. So we can now reveal with that transition, this season’s cat-eye has been upgraded, updated, whatever you call it super graphic and exciting, from taupe versions at Burberry to maximalist graphic swoops at Marni and some sort of freehand at Dior. Let’s just say, you better get your cat eye game strong and shine like a star come this new season.
Glitter
Who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle, till today glitter is one beauty trend that keeps on coming back. Eye make-up at Simone Rocha and Missoni had amazing full on glitter looks.
Nails Nails Nails
As beauty enthusiasts, beautiful nails is a must-have, although nail techs at the shows are usually forced to apply nude after nude just to blend with the clothing and accessories but here comes a change. From Miss Pop’s “orbit” nails at Jeremy Scott to gem-adorned talons at Adaem, this seasons nail art did not disappoint.
Baby Bangs
Who loves a good old baby bangs? A few models were rocking choppy fringes backstage at Prada and Miu Miu, whilst Sam McKnight at Dries Van Noten created roughly-snipped trompe-l’œil fringes designed to look as though the models had cut them themselves, how amazing is that.
