Chanel never fails to impress, and this time is no exception. We are super excited to discover Chanel will announce a new fragrance in Autumn this year, and Lily-Rose Depp is the face for the campaign. French-American actress and model, Lily-Rose Depp, is the 16-year-old daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis. Vanessa was the former face of Chanel’s Coco Chanel.
For many, this appears to be a natural progression for Lily-Rose as she is currently the face of the youthful-themed Chanel Pearl Eyewear of which launched in September 2015. However, some people feel it is too much for a young girl to take on. Nevertheless, Karl Lagerfeld is excellent at finding commercial success, boasting a long list of beautiful stars such as Brad Pitt and Kate Moss to lead Chanel’s campaigns.
In a statement Karl Lagerfeld said, “Lily-Rose is stunning, she’s a young girl from a new generation, with all the qualities of a star.” Chanel appointed perfumer Olivier Polge to create the new fragrance Chanel No.5 L’Eau. Olivier took over from his father Jacques Polge, who had been Chanel’s scent creator since 1978.
Following Chanel’s announcement on Monday, Lily-Rose posted an image of herself kissing a giant-sized bottle of Chanel perfume, stating that she is ‘so excited to be the face of the new Chanel’s No.5 L’eau.”
Lily-Rose’s father Johnny Depp is the face of Dior. The star of Alice Through The Looking Glass attended the film’s premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, announcing that he is ‘incredibly proud’ of his daughter. Johnny has every right to be proud, as Lily-Rose is certainly set for great things.
Chanel made a statement about Lily-Rose, saying she, “embodies her generation and its values of freedom and boldness to perfection, bringing to the iconic fragrance of the House her youthful freshness and beauty.” You go girl!
