Kanye West unveils what appears to be a fake Rolling Stones magazine cover photographed by Oklahoma rapper and friend Tyler the Creator. The image, which Kanye tweeted, shows him in bleach-dyed denim, with his name written boldly in neon pink alongside the caption, “Does he like mustard?”
Rolling Stone confirmed that the cover is not official, tweeting: “While we love Kanye, and have many mustard-related questions for him, this is not an actual cover of Rolling Stone.” Kanye then replied, “I bet you this still becomes the cover though…” alongside the hashtag “#trollingstone” before asking his 18.3 million twitter followers whether the image should become a real Rolling Stone cover, ‘Should this be a Rolling Stone cover? Yes or No’ he tweeted and at this point 59% voted ‘Yes’.
With West set to release his much-anticipated seventh studio album Waves on the 11th of February, one is to think this twitter antics may be a means of promotion. West showed up at New York Fashion Week performing at the Madison Square Gardens, just in time for the launch of Yeezy Season 3. After recently claiming that the album was the “best album of all time”, Kanye has since changed his words saying that it is “ONE of the greatest albums not the greatest just one of…”
