FRUK Editors’ Favorite New Beauty Products

When you’ve worked in the industry for over a decade and tried and tested several products; it becomes easier to spot a classic. Sometimes, it’s a case of whether something will live up to the hype. Or whether a newbie, unnoticed brand or product deserves more praise. And I know more about ingredients now and definitely don’t judge a beauty product by its packaging.

So, each week/month just like #SelfCareSundays I’ll be sharing with you new beauty products I’m loving. Some of which may be very new, others could be forgotten finds we all know about or have used at one point. And frankly, what we all want to know is, does it work and is it worth the pricetag? So, let’s dive into it, here are the new beauty products I’ve been loving.

All products featured have been independently selected and we may earn a commission if you buy using the links below.

Cirem Jardin De Fleurs Rose D’or Hydrating Face Mist, $29.95

Cirem Jardin De Fleurs Rose D’or Hydrating Face Mist, $29.95

I never thought facial mists were entirely necessary for our skin. But after reading and seeing all the benefits, I think it’s just as essential. From hydrating to absorbing excess oil while sealing extra moisture, as well as refreshing and soothing sensitive skin. Now I know better to try and incorporate the perfect mist to my skincare regime, one with exceptional ingredients that’ll actually help revitalise my skin.

Only just found out about Beverly Hills brand, Cirem and I’m already loving their products. This new facial mist refreshes, conditions, and boosts the complexion with, or without, makeup. Contains a blend of Green, White, and Rooibos Tea Leaf Extracts to detoxify and Hyaluronic Acid to improve and balance skin’s moisture levels. Also contains Cucumber, Aloe, Ginkgo Biloba, and Rose Flower Extracts delivering powerful nutrients into the skin.

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream, 15ml, £23.00

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff 15ml, £23.00
lookfantastic.com

I’ve never bothered with eye creams because I always thought it’s just another marketing ploy for us to spend more money on things we don’t really need. However, maybe there’s something special in eye creams that we all need. And now that my eyes are starting to somehow show my age, lol, I’ve started using one. With my late nights and constant use of the computer, I definitely needed this.

This Origins refreshing eye cream helps transform tired eyes, while gentle to the delicate eye area. Enriched with energising coffee bean, radiance-reviving panax ginseng and anti-inflammatory magnolia extract to minimise the appearance of dark circles, bags and puffiness.

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base, £44.50

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base, £44.50

When it comes to makeup, you want a smooth base for perfect application. And since I have oily skin, I’m always very cautious of my primers and base. To be honest, I prefer this base better than the primer plus protection I formally used. On the pricey side but personally, I found it very smooth, easy to apply and perfect canvas for a flawless makeup application.

This oil free vitamin enriched face base moisturises, softens and cushions skin. Contains Shea Butter and Vitamins B, C and E. It envelops the visage in a veil of nourishing moisture, whilst a blend of Grapefruit and Geranium fragrances impart an uplifting scent.

NARS Cosmetics Pore & Shine Control Primer, £29

NARS Cosmetics Pore & Shine Control Primer, £29

As mentioned earlier, I have oily skin so I was so happy to have found this primer. Not sure why it took me so long to try it but glad I finally did. I also have the NARS Radiant Longwear which I’m not entirely satisfied with; maybe I didnt get the right shade or it’s not just for me. But this Nars primer is the real deal.

This pore and control shine does exactly what it says. Its lightweight and oil-free formula provides sheer, mattifying coverage. Instantly refines the look of pores while working to combat shine and absorb excess oil. Helps to prolong the wear of makeup, while extracts of African Whitewood and Oleanolic Acid work in tandem with advanced peptides to balance and purify skin.

FENTY BEAUTY Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Foundation, £27.00

FENTY BEAUTY Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Foundation, £27.00
harveynichols.com

For a very long time, women of colour couldn’t find the right foundation shade. Personally, I had that problem, its usually too light, too dark or you have to mix and match to get your shade. Well, decades later several brands and celebs like Rihanna has made it much easier for us with new beauty products that deliver. I must say this foundation shade is without a doubt my perfect shade. Somehow, it blends perfectly into my skin without making it too obvious that I’ve got foundation on. It’s also lightweight and has an undetectable texture you can layer up – so you always look like you.

With 40 boundary-breaking shades, Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation gives skin an instantly smooth, pore-diffused, shine-free finish that easily builds from medium to full coverage. Enriched with oil-free formula made with climate-adaptive technology that’s humidity resistant, sweatproof and won’t clog pores.
