Abercrombie & Fitch Change Direction

We all know the famous American brand, Ambercrombie & Fitch. We are mainly drawn to their polo shirts, skinny jeans and gilets. Now there has been a new direction to their clothing line for autumn and winter 2015. A&F just released its first campaign under new leadership, with megababe Neelam Gill fronting the collection. Neelam is one of the very few models of Indian descent A&F has ever used. The brand was popular with using Caucasian models through it’s campaigns so this has made huge difference. They were known for years of lack of diversity in it’s advertising.

Gill, who is of Indian descent, wrote on Instagram that she’s “so proud” to represent the fashion label. The model adds, “This is a huge achievement for me, not only because I’m the first Indian to model for the brand, but because I worked on the shop floor in Hollister [owned by Abercrombie & Fitch] for two years whilst I was studying,” she added. “I’d go to work and I never imagined the models displayed on the wall could be me one day. Dreams do come true.”

Now it has come to the point where the American brand has re-worked its classic staples with a fresh twist.

It is about time they changed their style slightly. Even though it has altered, the clothes will still be classified as casual and simple clothing. The new Abercrombie and Fitch looks towards a British Heritage. With indigo denim jackets, Seventies flares, a never-take-off navy pea coat and a classic crisp white shirt. This combination goes extremely well together, a simple yet sturdy look.

The new line will also include Lurex sweaters, pleated skirts and jewel-toned Mary Janes.
