Beyoncé’s highly-anticipated visual album Black Is King just dropped on Disney+ and everyone is going crazy. The 85-minute film detailed a celebratory memoir on Black experience and ancestry. The 24-time Grammy Award-winning artist delivered the most powerful message of our era, incorporating African music, culture, dance and fashion. Furthermore, this incredible visual featured special appearances including her daughter Blue Ivy, mother Tina Knowles-Lawson, Kelly Rowland, Naomi Campbell and Lupita Nyong’o.

The incredible team also served endless inspiration and included, Stylist Zerina Akers who brought Beyonce’s vision to life with outstanding ensembles. Lead hairstylist Neal Farinah and Nakia Rachon Collins created amazing hairstyles from braids, straight, curls to up-dos and more. Rokael Lizama and makeup artist, Sir John, topped it off with unique makeup for every look.

In a candid Instagram caption, Beyoncé described the film as a “labor of love”; a passion project that she filmed, researched and edited around the clock over the last year…… With this visual album, I wanted to present elements of Black history and African tradition, with a modern twist and a universal message, and what it truly means to find your self-identity and build a legacy.

And Beyoncé’s wardrobe definitely didn’t disappoint. Packed full of a mix of industry heavyweights like Valentino, Mugler, Balmain, Burberry, as well as incredible Black designers including; Loza Maléombho, D.Bleu.Dazzled, and Déviant La Vie.
