The Oscars 2019 took Tinseltown by storm, marking the 91st edition of the biggest night in film. With our favourite female stars donning designer gowns and men in astonishing suits for the sartorial showcase of the year, it was one hell of a night.

Regina King’s won Best Supporting Actress for If Beale Street Could Talk . Her speech was priceless – “I am an example of what it looks like when support and love is poured into someone” – to her mother, who was looking on from the front row so proudly.
A night filled with all sorts of performance- Queen put on an wonderful performance with original members, guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor, fronted by singer Adam Lambert. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper also performed Shallows from A Star Is Born and sent the audience wild.

Having been nominated for an Oscar seven times, giving her the record of being the most nominated living person never to win an Oscar. “This is hilarious! I’ve got an Oscar!”- Olivia Colman said.
Another highlight of the night was Spike Lee. Who finally won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay and also made a speech and concluded with an exhortation that “The 2020 Presidential election is around the corner. Let’s all do the right thing!”
Also, Ruth E Carter was the first African American to win the Oscar for costume design for Black Panther and Hannah Beachler (who won with Jay Hart) the first to take the production design prize, for the same film. “I did my best and my best is good enough,” said Beachler.
