Pippa Middleton weds James Matthews in Giles Deacon gown in an event including a stream of celebrities and of course royalty.
Giles Deacon is known for his flamboyant, antic-flavoured designs however, he managed to produce a stunning classically number for the bride. Deacon’s name has been in the mix for a while now after he was photographed exiting Middleton’s Kensington home many months ago. Although he has been unfairly presumed to have been designing her bridesmaids’ dresses but he managed to pull off an elegant dress for the bride.
There were some similarities with Pippa and sister the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress, like Kate, Pippa opted for lace a more modern approach to the cut. She paired her gown with a Stephen Jones pearl-studded veil, a Maidenhair Fern tiara and Manolo Blahnik shoes.
Kate wore a peach dress by Alexander McQueen and matching hat by Jane Taylor, as she acted as one of the main chaperone for the bridesmaids and page boys. The duchess arrived with the young group, who wore outfits by exclusive children’s clothing company Pepa & Co.
With such tight security and rules that guests had to send in photographs and produce a password before gaining entry, even Meghan Markle was unable to sit next to Prince Harry, despite flying more than 3,000 miles to attend the wedding.
Staffs were hired from a prestigious specialist company that pride themselves on providing trained models and/or actors to serve food and drinks.
After enjoying a champagne reception at Englefield House, part of a private estate owned by Richard Benyon MP, guests reassembled at Bucklebury village hall for security checks before being ushered to the Middleton family home for the evening festivities.
Although the wedding attracted around 100 royal fans who stood near a public road and cheered. With a large number of security personnel on duty, the road approaching the church was blocked off to those not involved with the event and there were reports of even a sniper in the church’s bell tower.
The wedding is rumoured to have cost Pippa’s parents Carole and Michael hundreds of thousands of pounds, with an expensive glass marquee and posh portable toilets hired for the evening reception at their Bucklebury home.
