We can rely on Korea to keep coming up with amazing beauty trends to keep us enticed, and this trend is no exception. If you check out Instagram or YouTube, you may have seen beauty bloggers testing out peel-off makeup products. As this beauty trend is fast-becoming an Internet sensation, we decided to find out how good peel-off makeup actually is – and more importantly – whether it makes life easier.
The idea behind this quirky trend is that it is long lasting. Whether it is an eyebrow or lip tint, once you have painted it on and it has dried, you simply peel off the top layer to uncover your chosen colour printed neatly in place. The makeup will normally last up to 12 hours.
Berrisom’s Oops My Lip Tint Pack, Amazon, £15.69
This lip tint set is one of the most popular both in Korea and amongst beauty obsessives alike. Available in 8 vibrant shades, this peel-off lip tint will stay firmly in place throughout the day and into the night, without fear of fading, or smudging – and will even stand the test of time should you wish to spend the majority of it at the beach!
What is more, this lip tint pack is packed with beauty-enhancing properties such as Aloe Vera, marine collagen, royal jelly, and hyaluronic acid.

Etude House Tint My Brows Gel, etudehouse.com, $11.05
The eyebrow tint from Etude is a perhaps a fantastic product for festival lovers, that don’t want to haul around their makeup bag, worrying about how and when they will touch-up their brows. The tint comes in three shades: light brown, brown, and grey-brown. The only drawback is the fact that it takes a good 2 hours for the gel to dry, and if you desire a deeper colour it is recommended that you apply the eyebrow tint the night before, (not forgetting however, to remove it the following morning).
This is a fun product to try, and useful in an emergency situation. However, we believe semi-permanent makeup may provide a more sophisticated look.
Verdict: 6/10
