Word in the hive is that Queen Bey has lots of new material coming our way as early as next month! The queen has a new studio album and accompanying mini film slated for a “rock solid” April drop when the internet will melt down and Bey will forever be remembered as the soundtrack of summer 2016.Whispers have been circulating around the hive for a while now, spurred by a brilliantly cryptic lemon selfie that Beyoncé posted to Instagram six months ago. Apparently Project Lemonade is the code name for what will be her sixth studio album.
Last week The Beyhive’s semi-official Twitter account posted a declaration that shooting had wrapped in New Orleans for a Strong Films project also tentatively titled Project Lemonade. It may or may not have been shot by mysterious hip-hop video legend Kahlil Joseph.
This will be the sixth studio album for Beyoncé, a follow-up to 2013′s eponymous Beyoncé and this year’s all-important performances of “Formation”—at the Super Bowl and in the music video—that left fans clamoring for more. For those of you who still don’t have your Tidal subscription this could be the very reason you want to grab it! I mean we can keep watch on the Beyhive account for any further news, and in the meantime will be breaking out some vintage Bey to keep us satisfied. But the frenzy for that new album when it drops is going to be real!
After the release of “Formation” and her dominant performance at the Super Bowl, demand for some more Beyonce in the world has skyrocketed. And, though the information surrounding the release is fairly scarce, the source seems pretty certain that this is happening. And it would make sense. Kanye and Rihanna have both dropped projects this year and the initial hype has died down. Adele’s album came and went. Justin Bieber will surely be taking some time out after releasing Purpose at the end of last year. The American presidential race is gathering pace and – judging by formation – Beyonce is ready to have her say how the world is turning these days. Need we say more!?
